Steel bullet backstop (TS.90.001)
Circular bullet backstop composed of a modular type structure, each module corresponding to a single line of fire. The front of the system can be disassembled to facilitate transport and installation in narrow tunnels. The structure is self-supporting and comes complete with a support frame meaning that no building work or support structures are required. The greatest advantage offered by this type of backstop is storage of the lead, which is conveyed directly to a container placed underneath the system, below the circular chamber.

The backstop, made from sheets of steel with a hardness value of 400 HB, is composed of four walls inclined to form a rectangular section cone with a front opening of 1.20 x 2.20 metres.
The four walls are inclined to convey lead fragments and shots into the circular chamber, irrespective of the trajectory of the shot. The impact of the shot fired against the walls of the backstop is limited due to the slight inclination of the walls compared to the axis of the shot. Once the shot has been conveyed to the rear part of the structure it passes through a gap preventing it from returning and hits the circular chamber tangentially acquiring a circular motion that disperses the kinetic energy until it falls into the container.
When installed in a tunnel an extraction pipe can be fitted to the upper part of the circular chamber; the form of the system itself will create an extraction hood.

The TS.90.001 system has been successfully tested by the Banco Nazionale di Prova per Armi Portatili (National Test Bank for Small Arms).
